Laws and Regulations
In order to practice within the state of Nevada, Licensed Behavior Analysts, Licensed Assistant Behavior Analysts, and Registered Behavior Technicians are ethically bound to know the laws and regulations that govern the practice of Applied Behavior Analysis.

State of Nevada Laws and Regulations
Nevada Revised Statute Chapter 641D Applied Behavior Analysis provides the authority to administer and regulate the practice of licensed behavior analysts, licensed assistant behavior analysts, and registered behavior technicians within the state of Nevada.
Nevada Administrative Code Chapter 641 provides codified administrative regulations in regards to Psychologists, Licensed Behavior Analysts, Licensed Assistant Behavior Analysts, Autism Behavior Interventionists, Psychological Assistants, Psychological Interns and Unlicensed Personnel.
Nevada Revised Statute Chapter 241 Meetings of State and Local Agencies provides information for consumers regarding the requirement that public bodies, such as the NVABAB, conduct the people’s business (i.e., actions, deliberations) openly.

Notice to Patients Regarding the Destruction of Health Care Records
Pursuant to provisions of NRS 629.051 Subsection 7:
- The health care records of a person who is less than 23 years of age may not be destroyed; and
- The health care records of a person who has attained the age of 23 may not be destroyed for those records which have been retained for a least 5 years or for any longer period provided by federal law; and
- Except as otherwise provided in subsection 7 of NRS 629.051 and unless a longer period is provided by federal law, the health care records of a patient who is 23 years of age or older may be destroyed after 6 years pursuant to subsection 1 of NRS 629.051.
